National Night Out Celebration
Location: Citywide
Every August, on the first Tuesday night, neighborhoods all over Suffolk’s 430 square miles join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime, drug and gang prevention event. The theme for 2010 is “Project 365: A Safe Odyssey.” Suffolk neighborhoods will host special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police and city officials, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. In 2009, Suffolk’s National Night Out events received National Award recognition in Category 3 (population 30,000 to 99,999) for the second year in a row! IN FACT, WE RANKED 1ST IN THE NATION! With your involvement, we can bring this award back in 2010! The real winners, however, are the citizens of Suffolk who reap the benefits of living in a safe, caring, concerned community! For more information, contact (757) 514-4104 or log onto Suffolknno.org.
