Talks on Tap: Native Ecology of the Dismal Swamp

Thursday, May 2, 2019

Raise a pint and your intellect! The Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, Suffolk's neighbor to the southeast, covers 112,000 acres across Virginia and North Carolina. In this installment of Talks on Tap, Professor Rob Atkinson of Christopher Newport University will speak on the plants, animals, and wetlands of this unique environment, from the arrival of American Indians 20,000 years ago to the massive peat fire that burned in 2011.

Brick & Mortar Brewing Company and Suffolk Public Library present Talks on Tap, a guest lecture series with an informal flair. Sit back, relax, enjoy a beverage and learn something new to impress your friends with later.
