The Historic Obici House at Sleepy Hole Golf Course was built in the 1920's along the banks of the Nansemond River. The Italianate mansion was the home of Amedeo Obici, founder of Planter's Peanuts, and his beloved wife Louise. The Obici's were well known in Suffolk for both their philanthropy and gracious hospitality. Following an extensive renovation, the house has regained much of its original grandeur and now serves as a restaurant and special events venue.
The Sunroom at The Historic Obici House is a full service restaurant and bar offering a deliciously eclectic southern menu highlighted by specials such as James River Fried Oysters, Homemade Chicken and Dumplings and hearty Brunswick Stew. Regular menu options include Shrimp & Cheesy Grits, NC Style BBQ, Oysters Rockefeller and juicy Sleepy Hole Burgers. *Open for lunch and dinner Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.
