The Historic Obici House at Sleepy Hole Golf Course was built in the 1920's along the banks of the Nansemond River. The Italianate mansion was the home of Amedeo Obici, founder of Planter's Peanuts, and his beloved wife Louise. The Obicis were well known in Suffolk for both their philanthropy and gracious hospitality. Following an extensive renovation, the house has regained much of its original grandeur and now serves as a restaurant and special events venue.
The Obici House is ideal for hosting weddings, galas, reunions, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties and fund raisers, as well as business and civic meetings, club luncheons and conferences. Obici House Catering provides for all of your dining and beverage needs.

This elegantly restored 8,000 square foot Victorian Queen Anne is a unique
backdrop to what promises to be an unforgettable wedding. Built in 1907,
this monument has been restored to its original grandeur by Heirloom Homes,
a nationally recognized restoration company featured on HGTV and in Virginia Living Magazine.
Maximum capacity is185 guests for a reception or party. The Grand Ballroom accommodates
up to 90 seated guests, with an additional 30-40 seated guests on the large, wrap-around
covered porch area. The Wedding Chapel can accommodate up to 112 guests. Bridal Suite and
Groom’s Dressing Chamber on-site. Wired surround sound throughout facility.

The National Guard Armory provides more than 7,000 square feet of space for large meetings, banquets, tradeshows, reunions and weddings. It has a classroom, full kitchen and stage. Capacity is 400.
The Planter’s Club

This former 1922 Suffolk High School has been transformed into the state-of-the-art Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts. This facility offers a 500 seat theater and a 3,860 square foot ballroom, an Executive Board room, as well as, studio and art galleries that double as additional meeting space.
